Ribbon Rose

Hey Crafty friends!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! (little update) I never had a chance to work on that thanksgiving banner I wanted to make but I did get a chance to make a new type of flower (new to me anyways).I made a ribbon rose ( as I call it ) , I've never made one before nor have I seen one made, but I was in a creative sorta mood so I decide to go for it and I think it turned out just great! Best part about this ribbon flower is it's super simple to make! All you really need is a ribbon (with wire running threw it) , some thread or sewing floss ( a color that matches your ribbon), Needle (of course), Pearls for the center (or whatever you prefer as the center).

I just love this!
(strip I used to make a small ribbon rose)
I used Blue Moon Pearls.
Step 1: Get your ribbon and fold it over so it looks like one strip, then do a straight stitch along the edge. (Note : I used a wide ribbon with wire running threw it)
Step 2 : Remove the Wire from one side of the ribbon and tie a not in the other side of ribbon so wire does not come out ( Note one side of the ribbon must remain with wire running threw it in order to make this work correctly)
Step 3: Now that your ribbon is stitched closed ,you will pull on the wire that is left on the one side of the ribbon making sure it's ( Not) the side where you tied a knot in the wire to make sure it does not come out of the ribbon.
Step 4: Now that you have completely pulled the ribbon towards the knot so the ribbon is all bunched up ,start rolling it around itself (using your hot glue gun  every layer apply a small amounts to secure the flower)
Step 5: Add the final details by adding some pearls or a cute button..whatever you fancy!
(Note: I tied together pearls with red floss to secure to flower and added small drop of hot glue to the bottom)

*( I will post a video soon showing this process for you guys so that you can see the process in better detail) *

Finished Altered Box

I handmade the flower on the top of it

I love the look the metal gave it!
Hey Crafty Friends!

I woke up extra early today so I could head over to the post office before work to mail my (altered wooden box to it's new home. I never mail anything (btw) so I  kept asking the post office lady questions ( because I like to be informed) lol..she looked like she was getting annoyed! (Oh well)
In the end I spent close to ten dollars mailing out my box,  because I bought a box from them ,plus packaging supplies ( That's what happens when you go some place unprepared I guess lol). Most important things to me were, that I get it mailed out on time and that my swap partner (Carolyn) ,just loves her box! I can't wait to show you guys the box she created for me and I'll be posting pictures of my finished box . I'm so happy to be involved with this swap and getting to know such nice crafters!

Handmade Flowers

Rolled Flower Made from Felt

I had a little time and wanted to experiment working with some of the random things I just had lying around my craft corner. Decided I'd show ya'll what I made, just to inspire you to make something random with things you might not normally use. In my case I tend not to work with fabric very much but I really want to use it in more area's of my paper crafts, because I really feel like it adds a lot to a project. Hope you guys like them!  Remember to keep stopping by, to see pictures of my finished altered box which will be up in very soon.

Trinket Box

Hello , My crafty Friends
I  did actually get to craft this weekend so yay! Sometimes I get in craft funks where I can't seem to really craft much a all. I find that the best remedy for a craft funk is simply join a swap or just challenge yourself to think outside the box. This weekend I got to work on a trinket box for the swap I've joined.Since I've never done a swap before I was kinda nervous and over thinking the whole process. Finally I just told myself if you love what you make than so will your swap partner ! ( LOL)
Anyways I'm so exited to show you guys how the box is coming along but it's no quite finished yet so you will have to wait a few more days to see it! I will also be showing you the box I get from my swap partner but thats later.I'm posting a picture of the box I started off with ( which I already had in my craft stash) so you can see the before.

Hop over in a few Days to see  my altered version of this box.
