Copic Coloring!

Hey Crafty Friends!
I hope everyone of you is having a good week. This week has been a bit stressful for me but I believe God gives you what he knows your capable of handling (even if you don't know it). Anyways I've been taking a really fun class called Created From Color to help sharpen my copic coloring skills and I'm really enjoying it! I thought I would show you guys an example of something I've colored, so far just to practice.

"One Color Shading" of Skin
"One Color" shading of Hair and Eyes
The idea behind this, is that even if you only own a few markers, you can still add shade and make it look great.  I struggled a bit with (One Color hair shading) but this was my first time not using several markers ( like I normally do) to create shade. Anyways I hope this inspires ya'll to pull out your copics and color.

(Image Colored is only for this class)
*Link above will lead you to upcoming classes!*

Art Journal "Be Happy"

Hello Everyone!
I've been super busy with work and trying to get my next card tutorial ready! Between all that I managed to do some art journaling and even recorded of video for ya'll! ( I'm just a thoughtful person what can I say? hehe) I just really love what I do, and sharing my art work with all of you is something I truly love! Soo I wanted to post up pictures of my "Be happy" art journal pages before the video goes up. I really just love these two bright and fun pages , they really feel like they express my overall feeling at that moment. If you have followed along with my art journal pages then you'll notice I like to make my pages interactive ( and these pages were no exception). I really wanted to add an art journal tag so I could later on scribble on it a happy thought or doodle! Then I thought ( hey I would love my butterfly to feel fuzzy.. random I know) so I decide to work with ( flocking powder) for the first time. ( Fun Fact : When applying flocking powder, the longer it just sits there the better it sticks so don't tap it off right away like we do when using glitter). I had so much fun making these pages and I hope ya'll feel super inspired to start an art journal or at the very least have the urge to make something fuzzy!

It was really fun using different mediums on both these pages.

I painted that paper Dollie with some blue acrylic paint previously and never got around to using, till now.

I wanted to use things I had in my (random bag stash "aka" things I made and never got around to using that I just throw in a bag). If you interested in seeing my "stash bag" checkout my YouTube video below ( don't we all have a random stash bag or drawer in are craft area's? ).

Hope you guys enjoy this video and feel inspired to dig around your stash area and give an art journal of your own a try! ( I promise you'll love it)

Valentines / Birthday Card

Hi everyone! It's Sandra here and today I wanted to share with you a card that I made with a  Valentine's/birthday theme using the amazing (some  Some odd girl  stamp sets birthday mae and cupcake mae). I wanted a really bold look because it was inspired by a friend, so I decided to color her in hot pink tones paired with shades of blue to off set each other. I really love the flow of the card and the girly feel to it and how it all ties in with Valentines.

The papers I used are from the Basic Grey "Out of Print" collection - so perfect for any occasion! I have paired this with some Kraft cardstock,  glitter Gold (self adhesive paper) , some detailed stamping on some light pink cardstock and white Neenah Cardstock. I also used my Copic sketch markers to color in my main images : (Skin) E000,E00,E02,R20,W1 , (Dress & Headband) BG000,BG0000,BG09,B02, Hair & Shoes  RV21, RV06,RV34,(Candle Flames) Y21,YR23 (Candle sticks were colored with the same pinks and blues as hair and dress).

Skirt Apron was paper pieced from the same Heidi Grace "Valentines" paper collection as the cupcake holder. I really had fun combining different patterns of polka dots to create a whimsical feel to my card. The frosting on my cupcake was created with a Marvy "Snow Marker" which is a really cool process similar to embossing.

Don't forget you still have time to enter the Monthly Sketch Challenge over at The Stamp Spot so pop on over to win some yummy goodies!

Thanks so much for stopping my blog! please be sure to go checkout The Stamp Spot and show them some crafty love.

I also wanted to enter this Card into the Some Odd girl ( Color inspiration Challenge) !

Valentines Mixed Media painting

The sentiment and heart stamp are both from Tim Holtz .
I used liquid pearls in heart to add some dimension and ranger paint dabbers.
Nails I found on walking path and thought they looked really distressed and cool.

If your interested in seeing the whole process of how I made this, watch the video above
and don't forget to checkout Part (2) on my Youtube channel.
Most products used can be seen on both video's but don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
Hope ya'll get inspired to break out your liquid pearls and acrylic paints, you may have just sitting in your craft room. For me painting is all about fun and inspiration there is ( no wrong or right way to do this), just let the creative juices flow.  ( Thanks again for stopping by)
